Eccleshall were thwarted by the rain on their trip to Knypersley.

After being asked to bat by the hosts, they made their way to 176 for 6 from their 55 overs, thanks to 42 from opener Tom Hibbert, whilst Matt Thomas made 36 not out, and Nathan Hinton 27.

Nayar Abbas spun his way to 4 for 21. 

The home side only faced one over of their innings before the rain came and brought an end to proceedings.

Eccleshall closed the gap on leaders Cheadle with a win at home to Burslem. 

After winning the toss and choosing to bowl, James Carruthers’ side made early inroads with Dave Robertson taking a couple of early wickets, on his way to 4 for 34. 

Matt Buttery helped himself to 3 for 6, as the visitors were all out for 75 inside 29 overs.

The host’s run chase got off to a poor start when they found themselves 24 for 6, as Dominic Shaw (5-30) caused havoc, but Buttery 44* and Craig Sinclair 13* saw their side home.
