Eccleshall 2s 149/6 (32 overs) winning draw Longton 2s 101/5 (32 overs) – Eccleshall 10pts, Longton 5pts

Eccleshall 1s lead in the race for the final promotion place was cut to just 4 points after their game at Stafford was washed out without a ball being bowled.

However the 2s managed to emerge from their rain-affected encounter with Longton with a winning draw.

Longton won the toss and chose to bowl in a game reduced to 32 overs per side.

Skipper Jake Derry led the way for Eccleshall with an unbeaten 62*, with assistance from Paul Cox, who made 39, as the hosts reached 149 for 6.

Liam Reeves was the pick of the Longton bowlers, finishing with 4 for 47.

The visitors could only reach 101 in reply, thanks largely to Simon Derry’s 3 for 23. Aston Mack top scored with 43, with Brodie Mack making 40.
