Eccleshall 1s 142/7(37ovs) winning draw over Endon 1s 155ao (50.1ovs) – Eccleshall 13pts, Endon 7pts

Eccleshall were thwarted by the rain as they searched for victory away at lowly Endon.

Having won the toss and chosen to bowl, Cameron Sinclair saw his men reduce the hosts to 20 for three before the first rain shower interrupted the home side’s innings, costing the game 14 overs.

And Endon were 50 for four when players were again taken from the field due to the weather.

But after the restart, Matt Buttery took the prize wicket of Alex Bailey (22) on his way to figures of three for 29.

At the other end Yasser Tariq was plugging away to take five for 90, as Endon found themselves 110 for 9.

But some late hitting from Chris Jenkins (24*) helped the home side to 155 before Sinclair brought an end to proceedings.

The last wicket stand had used up valuable overs from the Eccleshall innings, but the visitor’s openers got them off to a strong start. However, tight bowling from Md Glash Uddin (3-30) and Anthony Sheeran (3-67) pegged Eccleshall back.

Tariq’s 58 saw Eccleshall past the winning draw mark, but the visitors ended up 14 runs away from victory.
